Jennifer S. Bleill Calienes
Director of MANCC
Education: B.S. in Arts Administration with a Dance Concentration from Butler University.

Work Experience: Managed the National Dance Project from 1999 – 2004. The National Dance Project is a program of the New England Foundation for the Arts that supports the creation and distribution of contemporary dance in the United States. Jennifer assisted in raising over $12 million for the programs and facilitated international partnerships with France, Netherlands and Japan. Prior to NEFA, Jennifer managed a craft gallery in Indianapolis, Indiana which supported the work of over 750 artists. She interned with Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and worked at Clowes Memorial Hall. She has also served on grant panels for Colorado Council on the Arts, New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, Boston Arts Academy and the State of Florida.

As Director of MANCC, Jennifer’s position provides the leadership and vision for the first choreographic center in the United States.


Lindsay Meeks
Assistant Director
Education: BFA in Dance from Florida State University.  Post graduate work at FSU in art therapy and child development.

Work experience: Prior to this position, Lindsay served as the House Manager of the Joyce SoHo Theater in New York City and as the Assistant to the Director of the Florida Teacher Advancement Program.  She continues to be involved in the Tallahassee dance community and the Southeast through choreographing and teaching for various companies and schools.  She has served on the Florida Division of Cultural Arts "General Program Support" grant panel, the Council on Culture and Arts "Tallahassee Cultural Services" grant panel and as a Letter of Inquiry Reader for the MAPfund grant applicants.  Lindsay was also selected as a 2007 Emerging Leadership Institute participant for the Association of Performing Arts Presenters.

Lindsay’s position is newly created to work with granting, contracts, funding, development, artist residency services and community involvement/education.


Joyce Straub Fausone
Community Relations
Education: BS in Dance Education from the University of Georgia and MFA in Dance from Florida State University. Post graduate work at FSU in Arts Administration.

Work Experience: Served as the Artistic/Administrative Director of the Tallahassee Ballet for 20 years enriching the Company’s stature and repertory. Joyce initiated several community outreach programs including DanceChance, the Ireland Cultural Exchange and Special School Performance Series. During her tenure with TBC she choreographed original works and produced the Company’s full-length ballets. In addition to her duties with TBC, Joyce served as adjunct dance faculty at Tallahassee Community College
for 15 years.

The focus of Joyce’s position with MANCC is to bridge community and university relationships through various partnerships.


Chris Cameron
Technology Specialist
Education: BFA in Studio Art from Florida State University

Work Experience:  Chris, previously worked as a Technician for the College of Visual Arts Theater and Dance at Florida State University.  While completing his undergraduate degree at FSU, Chris collaborated on a number of dance technology projects, including Tim Glenn's Aqueous Myth and My Silhouette is Your Silhouette, a dance for camera piece shot in collaboration with Latika Young, Melissa Andrews, and Conrad Gleber.  Chris has experience working in both traditional and digital art mediums and continues to produce and exhibit his own work. 

Chris works with MANCC to provide media and technology support for the center as well as its artists.

 

Shoko Letton
Filmmaker
Education: MA in American Dance Studies from Florida State University

Work experience: Shoko worked for Eiko and Koma as a co-editor for The Making of Cambodian Stories and as an editor for Death Poem from 2005 through 2006.  She filmed and edited Point A to B, which captured Benjamin Levy's choreographic process while he was at MANCC in 2006. Currently she is editing the epilogue of Sally Sommer's house dance documentary, Check Your Body at the Door.

She is excited to capture important behind-the-scenes moments of dance-making and make that experience available to people through film.
