MONTGOMERY HALL
To bring state-of-the-art facilities to the FSU Department of Dance and to help accommodate the development of the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography, Montgomery Gym underwent a four year renovation, fully completed and rededicated as the Katherine W. Montgomery Hall in 2004. The facility includes 7 dance studios, a fully equipped 380 seat proscenium theater, black box studio, audio lab, computer media lab, costume shop, general classrooms, offices, dressing rooms, conditioning studio, student and faculty lounges and conference rooms.

Black Box Studio (for MANCC artists' use)
- 64’ x 59’
- Lighting available for experimental use for short periods of time during residency, or as proposed in your application.
- ETC Expression lighting console with 192 dimmers and 3 universes of DMX
- Lighting grid over the entire room at 14’ above the floor
- Repertory light plot in place to light 1 end of the room. Lit space is 35’ wide by 24’ deep
- Sound system includes a cd player, ipod connection and is equipped for instrument and voice recording from black box to recording studio

Nancy Smith Fichter Dance Theatre (for FSU Department of Dance use)
- Seating capacity – 380
- Lit dance space – 35 feet wide by 29 feet deep
- Background draperies include bi-part blackout velour, black scrim, and seamless rear projection screen
- Lighting network controlled by ETC Emphasis control system with full 3D WYSIWYG package
- Sound – CD minidisk or WAV files via a SFX playback system
Studios
All studios are equipped with audio and video systems, Internet access and Harlequin panel system sprung floors. Each studio has a grand piano with the exception of the faculty warm up studio.

- 2 Gyrotonic Pulley Towers-Conventional cardiovascular training equipment
- Small alignment area with spring floor, mirrors and barre
Computer Lab and Media Studio
- 18 Macintosh work stations designed to handle video editing, graphic design, and multimdedia production
- Media Studio is equipped with more advanced media production software and tools for the Dance Technology faculty and MANCC artists
Audio Lab
- Lab includes 8 iMacs, each with 2.66 GHz Intel Core Duo Processors and 2 GB of RAM and Logic Studio Software.
- Each computer has a superdrive that can burn CDs and DVDs
- Recording studio for multi track Pro Tools recording system and sound proof room
- 24 track Pro Tools system to record from the black box studio, NSF theater, or sound stage
Costume Shop
- Equipped with three sewing machines and sergers
- Laundry facilities, dye vat, range and fitting area
Faculty Office Wing
- 2 conference rooms with seating capacity of 18
- 22 offices
- Faculty lounge with microwave, refrigerator, eating space
