Work in Development: Blocks of Continuality/Body, Image and Algorithm

Collaborators:  Melissa Guerrero (dancer and live processing coach), Ava Heller (dancer), Elise Knudson (dancer), Robert Ramirez (OGRE 3D engine manager and programmer), Jane Shaw (Lighting Designer, Production Manager), Enrico Wey (stage manager)

This dance and live cinema project demonstrates Koosil-ja's concept that body, space and objects have two natures – actual and virtual.  Using Live Processing, a performance technique and video system, information is overlayed onto real and virtual bodies and matters. The stories will be told with movement, song, music and 3D space. Research components include Alvin Lucier’s brainwave amplification, 3D avitars, video-game systems and computer headgear apparatus. In residence, Koosil-ja plans to work with media theorists including engineers, builders and architects to further develop the 3D set design.  This partnership project has been supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
