Work in Development:  Sipping Fury from a Tea Cup

As a launching point for her new work, Duany is examining the mystery of the recent disappearance of bee colonies (known as Colony Collapse Disorder), and how current advancements in technology have contributed to this dilemma. “Using the honey bee as a stepping stone for character development, the work looks at the hyper-extended intellect of the human mind and the ego that drives it, and how poly-cultural fertility has been substituted for mono-culture and accidental sterility.”

Collaborators: Elizabeth Doud [performer + writer], Ricardo Lastre [composer + sound designer], and Justin Townsend [lighting + set designer]
